We sat down to ask her 5 random questions about what it means to be a #CreativeHustler.
Here’s what she had to say:
Q. What’s your Creative Hustle?
Cynthia: This is a tough one… my creative hustle is my spirit, really. I have a real thirst for knowledge and I just genuinely enjoy solving problems. It all comes down to using my talents to solve problems for a greater cause and building a legacy.
In more practical and less fun terms, I work as a designer full time but I’ve recently found a passion in digital marketing and am hustling to build a portfolio and break into that particular job field.
Q. What is one productivity hack you use that you cannot live without?
Cynthia: I have this app on my phone called Productive which is like an interactive to-do list that also helps me organize my life.
It also inspires me to keep up good habits by letting me know when I’m on a streak and complete tasks consecutively. Makes me feel special and productive all at the same time, haha.
Q. When was the last time you hit a creative wall? What did you do specifically to regain your inspiration?
Cynthia: This happens to me more than I’d like to admit. However, I know myself well enough to take a step back and go through the following motions.
In my wallet, I have a picture of my late aunt who raised me and I actually stare at it until I feel the tears behind my eyes start to build. I allow myself to feel for a second and remember how I felt when I said my last words to her.
This kind of jolts me awake as I remind myself of how short our time is here…It sounds really depressing- I know- but nothing makes me more inspired to hustle than realizing that every second we have is a gift and an opportunity to be great.
I don’t mean to be cheesy. I just have a few chips on my shoulder and I’ve learned, with time, to make them my competitive edge. I remind myself why I do what I do and who I do it for and I instantly snap out of any little funk.
Q. Who is one #CreativeHustler, dead or alive, that you’d love to sit down with and share a beer, wine, cocktail, meal, or coffee with?
Cynthia: OH man, definitely Gary Vaynerchuk! That dude is the definition of a creative hustler.
Q. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Paint us a picture of how you’re continuing to live your #CreativeHustler lifestyle.
Cynthia: I see myself as a location independent entrepreneur working all over the world, adding value to the world by helping brands and business (the ones I believe in) achieve their goals. It would be pretty cool if I had a pug, too.
