Sometimes all it takes is an introduction to change your life. A future spouse, friend, business associate, or even a stranger that forever has you imprinted in their mind. A true lasting impression.
All we can hope is that it is a solid thought in their mind on your character and being.
That lasting impression is a culmination of every interaction you’ve had with that person since day one. The very first handshake. The first laugh. Even the first drink shared. But lets dive down deeper. I’m looking for that very first time your met that person. What were you like? Did you smile? Were you grumpy? Did you smell (I hope not)?
We can also call this your first impression. And it’s the most important.
Your lasting impression, and if you’re like me, you want that impression to be positive and influential, is predicated on those very first interactions.
Look people in the eyes. Be honest & truthful. Remember their names. Be engaging. All qualities that we need to arm ourselves with at every conversation and meeting. But most of all, if you want to make a great first impression, be interested to be interesting
This is an art that is never mastered, only practiced – everyday! In business, corporate america or the start-up world, being a people person isn’t a nice-to-have, but a must-to-have. It’s a core necessity of building your personal brand and influence.
